Paul passed away November 2rd 2003...................
Dishroon,Jr., James Paul
  James Paul Disharoon Jr. of Chester, VA, passed away Sunday November 2, 2003. He was born in Hampton, VA. on May 27, 1924, the son of the late James P. Sr. and Abigail Hummer Disharoon He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Patricia McCrea Disharoon. He leaves a wife Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Kabler Disharoon, sons James P. Disharoon III and wife Barbara of Colonial Heights, Edward M. Disharoon and wife Nancy of Virginia Beach, step sons Phillip Kabler of Charleston, West Virginia, John Kabler of Chesterfield and a half sister Sarah E. Disharoon of Newport News. Six grandchildren, Mary Ann, Michael, Amy, Matthew, Steven and Mark. A funeral service will be held 11 A.M. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in the chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, with the Rev. G. Thomas Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends tonight from 7:00-8:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Ivey Memorial United Methodist Memorial Fund, 17120 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Colonial Heights 23834 or the Bensley Bermuda Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 657 Chester, VA 23831

Below is a picture of John Fissel. John was a member of our class through his junior year in 1946. His dad was transferred to Baltimore and John finished High School at Towson, Maryland. If you look in your 1947 year book you can see John as a junior on the 1946 track team. He is setting on the bench in front of Dick Tetrick.

Another one of Dorethea (Dee) taken at the fall celebration at the William Penn Manor (Founder of Pennsylvania) September 2003.
Dee and Bill have been married for 53 years and have three children, two daughters and one son.
Also four GrandChildren. Dee was head teller in a National Bank for years. Retired and then went to work for a Local Court Reporter Firm for 8 years and then retired again.

As you all know, Washington Irvng High School is no more. A new high school has been built and is now Robert C. Byrd High School. Below is a picture of U. S. Senator Robert C. Byrd, taken at Salem, West Virginia at the dedication of the Rails to Trails. Standing next to him is Fred Brown, who was there as a Representative of the WIHS Class of 1947.
